Dallas, Texas welcomes well over 22 million visitors each year. Whether you’re traveling for business or pleasure, exploring this vast 9,286 square-mile area can certainly be a daunting concept. Fortunately, numerous transportation options are available for visitors. Take a look at 5 of the most popular ways for travelers to get around in Dallas and the surrounding area, whenever I have made a visit to Dallas i have always utilized these methods. Let me share my experience with you guys:
1) Shuttle Services
For many new arrivals in Dallas, a dfw shuttle is the perfect solution for escaping the airport and branching out into the city. Different shuttle services are available to meet travelers’ varying needs. Traditional shared shuttles from the airport to an array of destinations are widely available. Trust me it’s a good and economical option.
Groups of travelers can also book vans and buses for airport transportation. If you’re interested in a quieter, more luxurious ride, a private transfer may be the better option. Booking these services in advance is advised to ensure your ride is ready when you need it, simply you will not have to wait for hours.
2) Ridesharing Services
Ridesharing is also an option. Companies like Uber and Lyft are widely available to transport travelers from the airport to their destinations. They also chauffeur passengers throughout Dallas and Fort Worth for business, sightseeing, shopping, and virtually any other purpose.
Hailing transportation through ridesharing services is simple. It’s also safe since travelers receive pictures of their drivers, descriptions of their vehicles, and other helpful information when they book rides. Users can also book the types of vehicles that best meet their needs from compact cars to full-sized SUVs and beyond.
3) DART
DART, Dallas Area Rapid Transit, is a public transportation system that includes buses, light rail, and commuter rail services. DART’s network covers most of Dallas and the surrounding areas. It gives travelers convenient access to major attractions, business centers, and neighborhoods. You can purchase a pass for a single ride or for multiple days depending on how long you’ll be staying in Dallas and how much traveling you plan to do while you’re there.
4) Car Rentals
Renting a car is a common option for people leaving DFW and traveling around the Metroplex. This is a great solution for people who want full control over where and when they travel. It also gives travelers freedom of choice in terms of vehicles.
That being said, that freedom comes with the responsibility of navigating Dallas on your own. You’ll also have to deal with local traffic and other hazards on the roads. If you’re hesitant to drive in an unfamiliar area or simply don’t want the hassle, this may not be the ideal solution to your travel needs.
5) Taxis
As is the case in other major cities, taxis are readily available at DFW and throughout the Metroplex area. At certain times of the day, hailing a taxi may be a bit difficult. For the most part, though, it’s fairly simple. Many people are quick to point out that it’s a bit less expensive than ridesharing, but that depends on where you’re going. Taxis don’t necessarily serve all corners of the area, though, so it’s best to make sure they’re willing to accommodate your travel plans before making the final decision.
Traversing Dallas with Ultimate Convenience
Several options are available for leaving DFW and traveling around the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. Shuttle services, ridesharing, DART, car rentals, and taxis are the best choices. Of course, which one is best for you depends on your distinct needs and expectations. You can also take advantage of a combination of some of these options if need be. No matter which one you choose, it’ll allow you to explore Dallas and see what makes the area unique.
